For the second year in a row, WPGA has agreed to work with Me to We, and its partner organization Free the Children, for our 2011 International Outreach trip from March 17th to April 2nd 2011. Me to We is a youth based network of children helping children through education, with more than one million youth involved in our innovative education and development programs in 45 countries. Free The Children has built more than 500 schools around the world and has reached more than one million young people through outreach in North America.
This March, 22 senior school students and three teachers will spend two weeks volunteering to help build a school in a village in rural Kenya. WPGA students are directly involved in the planning, organization, promotion, and fundraising for this trip and will receive valuable leadership training both in Canada and in Kenya. They hope to continue to promote awareness of worldwide poverty, environmental, and educational issues upon their return.
Our team has pledged to raise the $750/per student necessary to pay for the materials and expertise to build this classroom. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact Mr. Webster, Ms. Logher or Ms. Boland.
