The 2012-2013 Programme of Studies Guide is a comprehensive guide to the curricular programmes at the Senior School. Although the academic programme is just one of the facets of a West Point Grey Academy education, it is truly the foundational pillar of our school. The programme descriptions are described here to help you understand the grade level with which you will be involved next year, as well as your future grade levels.

 

The Senior School Programme of Studies Guide will assist you in understanding our credit requirements for graduation and our programming procedures. It is the responsibility of each student, in consultation with the Director of Student Services, to take all the required courses needed to meet graduation requirements. Please note that the course offerings are contingent upon there being sufficient demand and certain courses may have limited space. Specific questions regarding information in this document can be directed to Ms. Cromarty, Mr. Raj or Mr. Huygens.

 

The course selection process for the next school year begins near the end of term 2 with presentations to students during the school day and a series of presentations to interested parents on selected evenings.

Information presentations will be held for parents in the Senior School cafeteria beginning at 6:00 pm on the following dates:

Parents of current Grade 11 students - Wednesday, February 15
Parents of current Grade 9 - 10 students - Wednesday, February 8
Parents of current Grade 5 - 8 students - Monday, February 6

You are welcome to attend as many of these presentations as you like, though some of the content will be repeated. There is no need to register. The presentations are meant to provide an overview of the transition process to the next grade level, as well as a description of the many programmes and opportunities available to your child.

Student course selections are entered online using the PCR Parent/Student Portal. Student login IDs and passwords are provided to students in their Advisories or Grade 7 homerooms. Instructions on how to complete online course selection are found in the following documents.
