WPGA Salutes the Grads of 2010
6/21/2010
On Friday, June 16, WPGA celebrated its 10th graduating class with a fabulous graduation ceremony. The proud graduates entered the Chan Centre to Pomp and Circumstance and completed the special rite of passage to symbolize the ending of high school, and the beginning of the next chapter in life. Guest speaker Mr. Christopher Gaze delivered a delightful speech with a captivating oratorical performance worthy of the director of Bard on the Beach. Mr. Anthony had the opportunity to acknowledge each graduate individually, and school captain Iqbal Kassam delivered the valedictory address. The choir paid tribute to the grads in song.
This grad class has special meaning for the school as seven graduates are the first ones to complete the full WPGA experience. In 1996, they entered as pre-kindergarten students the first year the school was opened, and now leave 14 years later as graduates. The seven graduates are: Connor Jones, Benson Li, Holly McDonald, Stephanie MacDougall, Erica Wiedmayer, Tatjana Wimmer, and Marcus Wong. Future students will now build on this tradition as more “lifers” pass through the school hallways.
