WPGA’s Parent Volunteer Group (PVG) is an integral part of WPGA's longstanding culture of giving and volunteerism. The PVG organizes community-building events and fundraises for school programs. The PVG's mission is to
- Promote and maintain communication between the PVG and the school community
- Enhance our children’s experience at the school
- Encourage parents to volunteer, fundraise and promote a strong school community
The PVG coordinates many school community events, such as the Gala, Toonie Sale and Sports Day, and fundraises for facility improvements and enriched programs. The PVG’s main fundraiser is the WPGA Gala, which for the 2019-2020 school year is set for Saturday, April 25 at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. The 2019 Gala raised $730,000 for summer renovations to our arts and music spaces; a smaller portion went to our Student Wishlist, which supports smaller scale projects that have a big impact on the overall student experience.Ways to Volunteer:
The PVG offers many volunteer opportunities and committees, such as crosswalk and playground supervision, library support, New Parent Liaison Committee, the Gala, the Toonie Sale, Lost & Found, and the Teacher-Staff Appreciation Luncheon. We encourage you to get involved whenever and however you are able!
