At WPGA, giving back to our communities is central to our school's mission and core values. We believe a meaningful education includes opportunities for students to be informed citizens who are actively and compassionately involved in their local and global communities. This includes over 60 service initiatives each year, such as cleaning up Jericho beach, participating in various Free the Children and BC Children's Hospital events, volunteering at Covenant House and in the Downtown Eastside, holding drives for the Vancouver Food Bank, BabyGoRound and the SPCA, and organizing international outreach trips with Outreach360.
From time to time, service initiatives involve fundraising. Fundraising for service projects, which is separate from general school fundraising, will only take place if it is student driven, aligns with our school's values and goals, and promotes the development of service leaders.
As leaders of tomorrow, our students offer tremendous hope for a world rooted in empathy and understanding.
