Junior Wolves Win BCSS Cross Country Championships
By Julia Huber ’22, Team Captain
The Wolves cross country team ended the season with a bang on November 6 at the BC Cross Country Championships. Although it was a miserably rainy and cold day, everyone fought hard through shoe-stealing mud and flooded paths (now home to a few duck families!). Cheered on by their teammates and brave fans and staff, the Wolves put everything out there, running as hard as they could after months of tough work.
The work paid off, as the junior girls were crowned the 2021 BCSS Provincial Champions and received a bright blue banner and trophy. The junior boys gave an incredible effort as well and placed 15th. Our senior girls placed 5th and the senior boys broke the top 10. Great job, Wolves!
We had two outstanding athletes place in the top 25 in their categories: Peter Neill '23 placed an amazing 11th in the senior boys race and Cristina Banducci '24 finished a phenomenal 24th in the junior girls race.
After an incredible season, we extend huge thanks to our amazing coaches, Sensei and Mr. Dawson, as well as our assistant coaches, Sarah, Audrey and Katie! Also, a shout-out to the captains who helped make this a fantastic season, and thanks to our seniors for their dedication over the years (pictured in this photo are Julia Huber, Sam Jones, Gwen Curin, Matt Reddock and Ella Huttunen).
