Auntie Mame Set to Dazzle Audiences January 31-February 2

By Cindy Xu '19 (Auntie Mame)

From January 31 to February 2, the West Point Grey Academy Players will showcase our spectacular production, Auntie Mame, at the Norman Rothstein Theatre. Written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee and based on the novel by Patrick Dennis, the play follows Mame Dennis, a progressive and exuberant woman who is tasked with bringing up her nephew Patrick after his father passes away. She heartily introduces him to her world of extravagant follies, unconventional artistry, and her refreshing outlook of the world. However, Patrick’s assigned trustee, Mrs. Babcock, staunchly objects to Mame’s flashy lifestyle and tries to mold Patrick into having the personality of a doorknob.

Auntie Mame is a celebration of life and all the dazzling joy it has to offer. We invite WPGA students, families and friends to attend the show and support the hard work we have put into the production. Experience for yourself a world of sparkles, gowns and warmth!
