At WPGA, our behaviours are guided by our core values, one being character driven, in that we model empathy and integrity as the basis for all our actions. In nurturing students' potential, we nurture their social and emotional growth, to inspire them to be compassionate citizens who care deeply about their peers, their communities and their own wellbeing.

Our junior school counsellors oversee our signature character education program, CARE (Citizenship, Attitude, Respect, Esteem), which begins in junior kindergarten and uses virtues-based themes for classroom lessons and discussions. CARE provides the script for healthy relationships and builds on the positive values and behaviours our families model at home.

In the senior school, empathy and citizenship are embedded into our service and leadership programs, which are student led and which build on the strong foundation of social-emotional awareness and community mindedness.

When a student has the security of an attachment, the mind is open to absorb new information. It also encourages students to look to their teachers for direction with regard to values, identity and positive choices rather than looking to peer attachments for all decision making.
