ISEA Track Meet Recap

By Mr. August Danyluk, PE Teacher, Junior School

What a day on Monday!

On May 15, members of the Wolves junior track and field team competed at the ISEA Championship at South Surrey Athletic Park, braving the heat and sun and representing WPGA with excellence in both performance and attitude.

We extend special recognition to the following athletes, who broke WPGA records in these events:
  • Megan Lam: Grade 5 Girls Records in 60m (8.90s) and Shot Put (7.88m)
  • Sloan Keay: Grade 6 Girls Record in High Jump (1.35m)
  • Hugo Evanoff: Grade 6 Boys Record in High Jump (1.41m)
  • Julia Cao: Grade 7 Girls Record in Long Jump (4.38m)
  • William Zhao: Grade 7 Boys record in 100m (12.15s), 200m (25.52s), Shot Put (10.51m)
Rae Hardy deserves major credit as well, filling in for multiple athletes who weren’t able to attend—and winning gold in the process!

Please congratulate these athletes (and all others) on a wonderful day. And thank you to the coaches who battled the heat alongside the team: Ms. Ma, Ms. DiFazio, Mr. Wong, Ms. Wright, Mr. Dawson, Ms. Dalziel, Ms. Hopkins, Ms. Huygens, Ms. McKnight, Mr. Martin and Ms. Tompkins.

Our final meet of the year is the BC Elementary School Championships, May 26-28. Stay tuned, Wolves fans!
