New! Gateway Exchange Program for 2019-2020

By M. Olivier Dessibourg, French Teacher
In 2019–2020, the senior languages department will a launch a student exchange program: the Gateway Program, a cultural and linguistic immersion experience.
In the Gateway Program, WPGA is partnering up with Lycée Raoul Vadepied, a high school in Evron, France, and Colegio Williams, a high school in Cuernavaca, Mexico. WPGA students will have the opportunity to live abroad for one month (Mexico) or two months (France), attending the school, living with a host family, and also hosting a foreign exchange student in their home in Vancouver.
Who Can Apply?
For next year’s trips, current grades 9/10 students can apply for the French exchange and current grades 8/9 students can apply for the Mexican exchange; 2–3 students will be selected for each program.
For program details, click here for France and here for Mexico. We also invite families to join us at an information session on Tuesday, May 21, 7:30am–8:15am in the Dining Hall. If students are interested in being considered for an exchange, they are to email or give their Expression of Interest Form for France or for Mexico (click “Use template”) by Wednesday, May 22 to M. Dessibourg or Señora Marte.
