Annushka, Chelsea & Vincent Selected for Team Canada Debate

By Ms. Tracey Lee, Debate and Model UN Coach

Canada is well known for producing some of the best debaters, many of whom are recruited to continue their studies at prestigious universities around the world. Of the hundreds of teenagers who compete at local, regional, provincial and national debate tournaments across our country, only 5-8 are chosen for Team Canada.

Annushka Agarwal '22 and Chelsea Hu '23 were selected from the tournament that welcomed the top debaters from across the country. Eight students advanced from tryouts, and WPGA was the only school to secure two of the eight spots. Annushka and Chelsea will join Vincent Gao '22, who is already on Team Canada 2021. They and their Team Canada teammates will represent Canada this summer at the virtual World Schools Championships hosted by Macau.
