Registration Opens February 6 for Sharing Sessions

By Mr. Alex Ross, Director of Learning, Junior School

In the Junior School, student-led sharing sessions are Wednesday, March 1, 8:30am-3:30pm. Sign-up is now open at WolfNet > Resources. Registration closes February 27.

There are five student/family spots per 20-minute time slot, so we recommend that you sign up quickly to book your preferred time.

For our annual sharing sessions, students attend the sessions with their parents to share their learning journey and the goals they have set. (Note this is a non-instructional day in the Junior School.) The sessions align with the provincial focus on reflective goal-setting and Core Competencies: the sets of intellectual, personal, and social and emotional proficiencies that all students need to develop to be lifelong learners. Following the sharing, which will occur in homeroom classrooms, students will have the option of taking their parents on a short school tour to highlight some of their daily learning experiences.

Coinciding with the student-led conferences, the Spring 2023 Student Learning Report will be released February 28. If you would like to connect with your child’s teacher regarding their learning report, please arrange a time outside of the sharing day.

At WPGA, we have long implemented the philosophy embedded in the BC curriculum, helping students set realistic goals for themselves and encouraging reflection to enhance learning and comprehension.
