The Loonie Sale, a longstanding tradition at WPGA, is Thursday, December 12 and Friday, December 13. At the sale, junior school children have the chance to shop for a special gift for each person on their list, with all proceeds benefitting KidSafe's holiday skating party. (KidSafe is a fantastic charity that provides holiday and afterschool programs for more than 400 at-risk children and youth in Vancouver. Proceeds from the Loonie Sale go to KidSafe's annual skating party in December.)

Donation Items:
We request donations (new or nearly new items) for students to purchase at the Loonie Sale. Popular items include
• books in good condition (art, decor, sports, parenting, newer fiction, cookbooks, children’s books)
• DVDs, CDs (no VHS or cassettes)
• jewelry, cufflinks
• games, puzzles (no missing pieces, please!)
• ties, scarves
• kitchen and wine gadgets
• toys in good condition (no stuffed animals)
• home decor, e.g., candles, picture frames, ornaments
• personal care items (must be new), e.g., bath gel, fragrance, wrapped soap
• golf balls

We also need holiday wrapping paper, gift bags and tissue paper, so keep us in mind when sorting your holiday decorations and gift wrap supplies!

Two Ways to Deliver Donations:
• Drop donations in the blue bag in your child's classroom.
• Bring items to the lower 4th Ave. parking lot between 8-8:45am on Tuesday, December 10. (Kindly do not drive items to the school's front entrance.)

Volunteers Needed:
We also need parents to help set up the holiday workshop on Wednesday, December 11 and to assist with the sale on December 12 and 13. To volunteer, please sign up on the sheet outside Warren Lee's office or email Kim Cowan. (Those who signed up earlier this year will be contacted shortly.) The more, the merrier, so call on a friend to help, too!

Honoured to learn and play on these beautiful lands, we endeavour to be a leader in Indigenous education.
