Dominican Republic Outreach 2018

By Ms. Sarah Poole, Senior School Service Director

Building Futures. Transforming Lives. This spring break, 23 students in grades 11 and 12 will have the opportunity to do just that. This will be our fifth year supporting Outreach360 in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic. Outreach360 is a grassroots volunteer organization that provides critical education to children in economically disadvantaged areas. Our students will teach lessons to children and benefit from an incredible cultural experience that connects them to the real needs of the people in the community.

As Director of Service, I am excited that our students have this opportunity to share their time and talents with others and also gain such a rich and rewarding experience.

Our students are each fundraising for the trip. WPGA would like to raise an additional $3,000 to help Outreach360 build a new classroom in the Dominican Republic. To contribute to this worthwhile cause, please click on our team page (donations are in US funds).

A sincere and heartfelt thank-you to everyone who has donated thus far to this service learning initiative, which is a journey that will change the lives of all involved. Please watch for pictures and student experiences in the Howl in April following the trip.
