  • Do you recommend families work with an agent or educational consultant?

We do not advise families to use educational consultants or agents for the admissions process. Because the process is reviewed and updated annually, information from agents and consultants can be outdated, leading to misinformation about current requirements and procedures. We prefer to work directly with applicant families to build a better relationship.

If you have questions or need more information about any aspect of the admissions process, please contact the Enrolment Office directly, and we will be happy to assist you. Please note that any communication regarding the status of a candidate or their application is conducted directly with the parent(s) or legal guardians, not through a third party.
  • How competitive is it to enrol in West Point Grey Academy?

We are pleased that so many families feel that WPGA would be a good match for their family. This means that we receive far more applications each year than there are spaces available. Also, some grades are not entry years, which limits our opportunity to enrol students, and we prioritize enrolment for siblings of current students. Although there are limited spaces, we do hope families who would like to join our WPGA community submit an application for consideration.

For all families who apply to WPGA, we are committed to an admission process that is welcoming, fair and inclusive. We respect your interest in our school and are committed to ensuring your experience with WPGA is positive and supportive. We abide by the NAIS Principles of Good Practice and the AISAP Ethical Behavior and Best Practices for Admission Professionals.

  • Does the school provide a bus service?

WPGA has a morning bus service, contingent on ridership, for an additional fee. The bus currently picks up students at several locations in Vancouver and Richmond; locations are subject to change each year. The bus arrives at the school gym at 8:05am.
  • I'd like to make a donation to WPGA. Can I give to the school during the application/enrolment process?

Our Enrolment Office has a no-gifts policy. We respect the gesture of appreciation; however, we do not accept donations/gifts of any kind from prospective families.

Since 1996, West Point Grey Academy has gratefully resided on the Jericho Lands, the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Honoured to learn and play on these beautiful lands, we endeavour to be a leader in Indigenous education. In creating shared understanding and opportunities, we hope to help foster a more equitable society for all.
