Raising Salmon in the Junior School

By Ms. Molly Young, Head of Science, Junior School

This month the Junior School received 55 chum eggs. We will be raising salmon in the Learning Commons between now and April. The eggs will soon be turning into the alevin stage. Once they reach the fry stage in April, students will be releasing them into a stream at Jericho.
These little critters are for all grades and classes to enjoy. Students will be learning about the fish in both their library and science classes. Click here for more information about this exciting program.
