We are excited to share that our beehive and bees will be arriving the week of May 13, delivered and prepared by project partner Alveole, which develops and implements bee ecology programs in schools and organizations nationwide. Both junior and senior school students will have the opportunity to take workshops on beekeeping and honey extraction. Best of all, the bees will produce organic honey for WPGA (stay tuned for our first-ever honey extraction event in September!).
Note there is no elevated risk to students in terms of bee stings. Click here for an article regarding bee stings. If you have any concerns, please contact our nurses.
We look forward to welcoming our bees, and will keep you updated on an upcoming educational assembly (grades 5/6) with Alveole.
