Junior School Pride Day June 3

By Tara Bhalla '27 and Ayla Fielding '27

On Friday, June 3, the Junior School will be holding our first ever Pride Day (woo hoo!). It will be a chance for students and teachers to learn more about LGBTQ2S+ pride and what it is, so here’s a quick definition: LGBTQ2+ pride is the promotion of equality, acceptance and increased visibility for people in the LGTBQ2+ community. During morning and lunch recess, we will have fun activities such as button making, chalk, pride stickers and temporary tattoos! Don’t forget to dress in rainbow colours!

Since 1996, West Point Grey Academy has gratefully resided on the Jericho Lands, the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Honoured to learn and play on these beautiful lands, we endeavour to be a leader in Indigenous education. In creating shared understanding and opportunities, we hope to help foster a more equitable society for all.
