What do you get when you start off with a generous helping of musical talent, a splash of hard work, and a dash of magic? Well, the answer, of course, is Mr. Chad Hoopes!

Recently, the WPGA senior strings class was treated to an up-close and personal performance by a violinist prodigy. Mr. Hoopes was in town for a concert with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and he had generously offered to come to West Point Grey Academy to talk and play for us. In addition, Maestro Tovey also came and accompanied Mr Hoopes on the piano.

Mr. Hoopes started on the violin at the very young age of three. Just hearing him play was such a treat. He has played in numerous concerts and he has even done a commercial for the Cleveland Indians baseball team! We thank Mr. Hoopes for taking the time to visit us and to encourage us to continue playing. It was an awesome experience!
