By Christopher L, Grade 12 School Captain Coinciding with the recent news that Vancouver will soon be the
headquarters for TED, the annual global conference that brings together leaders of technology, entertainment and design, West Point Grey Academy is proud to announce it will host its first ever
TEDx Talk conference on Thursday, February 28. The conference is intended to encourage participants to examine their leadership styles and motivate them to become active leaders within their school communities. We are also privileged to welcome keynote speaker
Christal Earle of Live Different as well as esteemed speakers Brandon Mari ('08) of
Youth Education Farms, Brittany Wong ('05) of
The Lipstick Project, and Andrew Almack of
Plastic Shore, all of whom will share their experiences as socially minded leaders in the greater community.
Following our speakers, there will be a dinner intermission followed by leadership-oriented activities.
Students in
grades 7 to 12 and on student council are invited to attend. The registration fee is $20 and includes dinner. A portion of this fee will also go to charity. To register, click
