Diamond Point '12 Wins UBC Logo Competition

By Ms. Megan MacMillan, Communications Director

We are pleased to share that Diamond Point ’12, WPGA Arts Assistant, has won a logo competition for UBC Student Housing and Hospitality Services (SHHS). Her designs will be incorporated into logos for the three newest Totem Park residences that carry the names c̓əsnaʔəm, həm̓ləsəm̓ and q̓ələχən (traditional Musqueam Village sites).

For this competition, UBC was looking for logos that incorporated birds—blue heron, sawbill duck and eagle—native to each location. Submissions could be for one logo or three, and all three of Diamond’s submissions were selected. Last week, Diamond met with the UBC team to review her digitized designs and to see where these images will be placed in the residences over the summer.

Congratulations to Diamond on this exciting achievement and the opportunity to share her artwork and Musqueam heritage with the UBC community!
