A group of Vancouver students has teamed up to create the nonprofit organization Adopt Our Community, with the aim of making a positive impact on Vancouver communities. As part of its first service initiative, Adopt Our Community is holding a clothing drive. From October 22-29, we invite students and families to bring gently used clothes to the senior lobby. Clothes should be appropriate for ages 16 to 25 years. All clothing items are welcome except for undergarments and socks; warmer clothing (jackets, sweaters) is preferred at this time of year. The clothes will go to Directions Youth Services, a shelter for homeless youth in downtown Vancouver.
If you have any questions, please connect with Elena Wang ’20. We also invite students to attend Service Council meetings at lunch on Thursdays to find out more.
Remember, a shirt you don’t wear or need is a shirt you can donate!
