SPIRIT OF THE LEADER

At West Point Grey Academy, our renewed visual identity reflects who we have always been: confident, visionary, and deeply caring. Grounded in a timeless yet modern design system, our look is purposeful and anchored by clean typography, a thoughtful colour palette, and photography that captures the richness of real student experience. At the heart of this identity is the emblem of the wolf: a symbol of community, guidance, and quiet strength. It honours our heritage while confidently looking forward. Together, these elements express our promise, to nurture the extraordinary in every student, with love as our foundation, learning as our path, and the spirit of the wolf guiding the way.

This transformation is more than visual, it’s a reflection of our enduring culture of care. For 30 years, WPGA has believed that when students feel seen, supported, and inspired, they thrive. Our new identity doesn’t mark a departure, but a deeper alignment with what’s always been true, that love leads to learning, and learning leads to lives of purpose. Through this evolution, we reaffirm our commitment to helping students grow into confident, compassionate leaders ready for whatever comes next.

  • Photography Style

Our photography is a window into life at WPGA—honest, warm, and full of vitality. We focus on capturing real moments: students deep in thought, mid-laughter, mid-action—fully engaged in the world around them. These images are not posed or performative; they reflect the spirit of a community built on trust, care, and joy in learning.

Soft, natural light and clean, softly blurred backgrounds help ensure the subject is always the focus. The goal is intimacy without intrusion—every photo should feel like it belongs to the moment, not the camera. We prioritize warmth in tone to balance our cooler brand palette, creating a visual harmony that mirrors our culture of care. Whether in the classroom, on stage, or outdoors, our photography celebrates the individuality of each student and the collective energy of our school.

In every frame, we’re not just documenting school life—we’re expressing the character of WPGA: confident, connected, and always nurturing the extraordinary.

  • Typography

WPGA’s new typography balances clarity with character—confident in form, but never rigid. Our primary typeface, FF Real (used in Head and Text styles), brings a clean, modern sensibility that communicates trust and forward momentum. Paired with Tisa, our secondary serif typeface, the system gains warmth, elegance, and a sense of academic heritage. FF Real is used primarily for headlines and core messaging, while Tisa supports subheadings, captions, and longer-form content. Together, these fonts reflect the dual nature of WPGA: bold yet thoughtful, contemporary yet rooted. Whether used for an inspiring call to action or a note of encouragement, our typography ensures every message is as clear as it is human.
Refined yet bold, the wolf captures our proud, determined spirit. Aspirational and guiding, it reflects a community that leads with purpose. The mark was designed with timelessness in mind the clean, modern curves is grounded by a stable, serif-inspired bases. It honours our heritage while confidently positioning us for the future.

PRIMARY LOGO
The primary logo should be used in most cases, unless otherwise approved by the Communications + Marketing team. When using the light version of the logo, always place it on dark backgrounds to ensure clear visibility and contrast. Use the full-colour version only on lighter backgrounds where the logo stands out and doesn’t compete with surrounding text.

SECONDARY LOGO
Use the stacked version of the logo when space is tight or a more vertical format is needed. It maintains brand clarity while offering flexibility.

TERTIARY LOGO
The single-line version works best as a subtle brand accent—ideal for footers, headers, or more minimal layouts where space is limited.

CREST LOGO
Our crest is the most personal expression of the brand. It’s perfect for uniforms, merchandise, and everyday applications that bring the school community together.
