School Access Updates Effective March 30

By Mr. Jonathan Pike, Director of Operations

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming campus, WPGA will implement several updates to our daily safety procedures following Spring Break. These changes are designed to promote greater consistency between the Junior School and Senior School while ensuring the school day runs smoothly.

Starting March 30, all exterior doors, including the main entrances, will be locked during school hours. If parents arrive outside of these times, they may use the code pad entry system or ring the bell for access. During high-traffic drop-off and pick-up times the front doors will be unlocked.

All visitors will still be required to sign in and out at reception. In addition, teachers are now asked to notify front office staff in advance of any visitors.

We all share responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy campus. We encourage parents, staff, and students to contact reception or Mr. Shaun Lum, Security Coordinator, if you observe anything of concern across our large campus.

Since 1996, West Point Grey Academy has gratefully resided on the Jericho Lands, the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Honoured to learn and play on these beautiful lands, we endeavour to be a leader in Indigenous education. In creating shared understanding and opportunities, we hope to help foster a more equitable society for all.
