Spring Break Reading Challenge

By Ms. Devin-St Amour and Ms. Caitlin Elias, Teacher Librarians

It’s been a fantastic term for our library, filled with lots of reading and exciting author visits! Click here for our Term 2 newsletter for highlights.

To encourage reading over Spring Break, we are launching a Junior School Reading Challenge! Before the break, each student received a sheet in their house colour with paper links.

Over the break, students are invited to read and record the title and author of up to three books on the links. After the break, they can bring their sheet back to the library, where we will connect the links together to create colourful reading chains to display in the library.

Each book recorded will earn two House points. We hope this fun challenge inspires lots of reading over the break!

Since 1996, West Point Grey Academy has gratefully resided on the Jericho Lands, the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Honoured to learn and play on these beautiful lands, we endeavour to be a leader in Indigenous education. In creating shared understanding and opportunities, we hope to help foster a more equitable society for all.
