Through our Pizza Day, we raised $1,150 for Music Heals, a charity that supports people in need through music therapy programs. Music Heals helps fund professional music therapists who work with people facing physical and mental health challenges, using music to improve their wellbeing, reduce stress, and help them connect with others.
We raised this money by organizing a pizza day for all the grades 6 and 7 students. Each slice of pizza made about $6.37 in profit, and because so many students participated, we were able to raise a significant amount of money. This really showed how small actions, like buying a slice of pizza, can add up to make a big difference.
This would not have been possible without the support of many people. We would like to thank all the students who participated, the families who donated and purchased the pizza, the junior school teachers, Mr. Lee, Vice Principal, Ms. Corcoran, Head of Junior School, for helping to make this event successful. Their support allowed us to turn a fun Pizza Day into something meaningful.
Overall, this experience showed us how a simple idea can have a real impact. By working together, we were able to support an important cause and help bring the power of music to people who need it most.
