Mamma Mia! Plot & Content Guidance

By Mr. Jason Parker, Head of Senior School

We are very pleased to share that the Senior School Theatre Company will present four sold-out performances of Mamma Mia! from February 26 to 28 at the Norman Rothstein Theatre—an upbeat, joyful musical featuring the iconic music of ABBA.

For those unfamiliar with the show, Mamma Mia! follows a young woman preparing for her wedding as she explores questions of family, identity, and belonging. Told with humour and heart, the story celebrates connection, friendship, and love in all its unexpected forms.

As always, we want families to feel informed and comfortable when attending school productions. Please note:
  • The musical includes lighthearted romantic themes and mild innuendo; nothing explicit or graphic.
  • Themes of identity, single parenthood, and chosen family are explored with warmth and positivity.
  • There are brief moments of flashing lights and louder musical effects.
We recommend Mamma Mia! for audiences ages 10 and up, and encourage families to use their own discretion based on their child.

We are incredibly proud of the cast, crew, and creative team, and look forward to welcoming our community to the theatre. If you have any questions about the production or its content, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
