Spring Care & Connection Meetings

By Ms. Alice Gyton, Vice Principal of Learning, Senior School

On Wednesday, April 8, the Senior School will host Spring Care & Connection Meetings on Zoom between 2:30pm–5pm. Each meeting will be a 15-minute conversation involving teachers, parents, and students.

These meetings are by invitation only and are intended to support students who may benefit from additional guidance as they prepare for the next grade level. Teachers will reach out directly to selected students and families based on observed needs.

The goal of these meetings is to strengthen communication and ensure students have the support they need to succeed. Conversations may focus on academic progress, behavioural development, social-emotional wellbeing, or signs of declining engagement, with an emphasis on identifying practical strategies to support each student.

Together, teachers, families, and students will work collaboratively to develop clear action plans and reinforce strong support networks that help students move forward with confidence. By partnering closely with families, we aim to provide the care, connection, and resources that allow every student to thrive.

Since 1996, West Point Grey Academy has gratefully resided on the Jericho Lands, the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Honoured to learn and play on these beautiful lands, we endeavour to be a leader in Indigenous education. In creating shared understanding and opportunities, we hope to help foster a more equitable society for all.
