WPGA’s Inaugural TEDx-Style Event - March 9, 2026

By Mr. Josh Hatt, Senior School Teacher

West Point Grey Academy’s Global Discourse and Reasoning Program is excited to present our first TEDx-style event, Voices that Carry. Over the past several weeks, students in Critical Thinking and Communication (CTC) 8 and 9 have been working closely with Mr. Patrick Johnson and Mr. Josh Hatt to develop and refine speeches that explore ideas, perspectives, and issues that matter to them.

This special afternoon will showcase student voice, thoughtful discourse, and the confidence that comes from sharing ideas with a live audience. Families are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the work our students have been preparing.

Event Details

Back
Since 1996, West Point Grey Academy has gratefully resided on the Jericho Lands, the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Honoured to learn and play on these beautiful lands, we endeavour to be a leader in Indigenous education. In creating shared understanding and opportunities, we hope to help foster a more equitable society for all.
