Model UN CAHSMUN Recap

By Aussia Towfigh '27

From April 10 to 12, a group of WPGA students attended our final conference of the year: Canadian High Schools Model United Nations (CAHSMUN), which took place at the Sheraton Wall Centre. We engaged in thoughtful debate, passed directives, and solved a wide range of diplomatic issues throughout the entire weekend. Each committee had a unique topic, such as the Libyan civil war, autonomous weaponry, and George Orwell’s Animal Farm. Delegates met students from around the country and returning delegates from past conferences.

As well, CAHSMUN was a qualifier for the inaugural HarvardMUN Tournament of Champions in Toronto at the end of May. WPGA is thrilled to advance three students to this prestigious event: Sheree Li '26 (our MUN club president), who won best delegate at CAHSMUN, and Sohana Garg ‘27 and Matt Haberl ‘29, who were also recognized for their diplomatic prowess. What a banner year for WPGA’s MUN program. We are so proud of everyone!
