On Tuesday evening, April 21, six WPGA students presented their group projects at Science World to interested judges, teachers, and parents. For the Year 1 (Discovery) program, our school was represented by Sohana Garg '27, Pranav Sandesh '27, Grace Liang '27, and Adriana Wertz ‘27. Project topics, in order of students above, included the efficacy of washing techniques for water bottles, AI usage and student academic performance, sanitation of surgical plastics, and impacts of ocean acidification.
For the Year 2 program (Research), our single representative, Elliot Deyell ‘26, shared their engineering project of the ideal internal conditions for the propulsion of a bottle rocket. Finally, Ann Wang ‘26, one of only three individuals accepted into the Year 3 program (Implement), presented to a full house on her research project: a potential climate change solution by optimizing carbon dioxide conversion with bimetallic catalysts.
All students were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their topics, and they engaged with audience members in a professional manner. For students interested in being part of the Discovery program, applications are due at the end of April. If you have any questions, please contact
