Last week was an exciting time for Wolves Athletics as our students competed in two ISEA Championships: track & field and girls soccer. Hosting the Girls Soccer Championship on our new soccer pitch was a fantastic experience, with our team showing tremendous enthusiasm and energy throughout the day.
Meanwhile, our track & field team delivered an outstanding performance at UBC, capturing 1st place overall aggregate, along with 2nd place finishes for both the overall boys and overall girls standings. Congratulations also go to Sebastian Wong, who broke the grade 7 school long jump record with an impressive leap of 4.99m, surpassing the previous record of 4.74m set in 2015.
As the Wolves prepare for their final major meet of the season, the BC Elementary Championships at Minoru Track in Richmond this weekend, we also celebrate the 30th season of Wolves Track & Field. More than the results themselves, this season has been a reminder of the joy, perseverance, confidence, and teamwork that athletics helps foster in our students. Congratulations to all of our athletes on an incredible season so far. Go, Wolves!
Since 1996, West Point Grey Academy has gratefully resided on the Jericho Lands, the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Honoured to learn and play on these beautiful lands, we endeavour to be a leader in Indigenous education. In creating shared understanding and opportunities, we hope to help foster a more equitable society for all.
