Open Workshop

Arts & Culture

Open woodshop is for any student interested to work on creative or design projects that involve the use of wood working equipment or other tools. these can be personal projects or related to school. Come chat with Mr Pope to learn more.

Intercultural Club

Arts & Culture

Intercultural club offers a vibrant space for cultural idea exchange as well as exploration and celebration of cultural diversity at WPGA. Come to learn about other cultures, instil a sense of pride in one's own cultural identity and foster positive and constructive discussions and events.

Spanish Club (Project Somos)

Arts & Culture

The Spanish Club is a service club connecting WPGA students with young students at a school in the highlands of Guatemala at Proyecto Somos. By joining this club students will improve their Spanish skills, develop teaching skills, receive service hours, and connect with young people from another country and culture.

Vancouver Speech, Drama and Poetry In Voice

Arts & Culture

This club is an opportunity for students to enter the Vancouver Speech and Drama Festival. Students can choose to perform one or many pieces. Included are: performing a poem, prose, monologue, scene, Shakespeare a well as several other options. In addition, students wishing to enter the Poetry In Voice Competition will be coached a this club. This club is really for students who love drama and want more opportunities to perform. Additional meetings will be scheduled closer to festival at a mutually agreed upon time.

Wolfgang Chamber Orchestra

This is a highly challenging chamber orchestra who will perform at the winter and spring concerts as well as at events like festivals and trips.

Senior Orchestra

Arts & Culture

This is a large string orchestra, featuring a wide range of musical styles. The WPGA Orchestra will perform at winter and spring concerts as well as potentially festivals and trips.

Knitting and Crocheting Club

Arts & Culture

A chance to learn to knit and create something usable in a relaxed social environment.

Lotus Cards

Arts & Culture

A creative card writing club that write to different groups who might benefit from recognition like Point Grey Private Hospital, vets, seniors homes or other.

Senior Choir

Senior school choir, scheduled off timetable as an academic course of study. Weekly rehearsals and regular performances at school assemblies and concerts.

Arts Council celebrate multiple forms of the arts through school events like Coffee House, Open Mic, Arts week and more. Join in to help the arts flourish in the senior school

The club runs tournaments for anyone interested, while also teaching beginners the game. It is a fun place for chess players to connect or compete.

A fun club for buzzer style, general knowledge quiz questions, and optional participation in quiz competitions and tournaments..

Kwantlen Science Challenge

A regional competition hosted at Kwantlen Polytechnic University where teams of 5 prepare then compete in a day of 5 different science challenges.

Team up with fellow Wolves to compete against other schools in a series of exciting physics challenges, in either senior or junior categories.

Model United Nations (MUN)

Global Discourse and Reasoning

MUN attends both local and international conferences that focus on global issues and diplomatic negotiation skills. WPGA also organizes and hosts VYMUN annually in October. This is a key facet of WPGA’s Global Discourse program.

Environmental Sustainability Council

The council aims to bring students together to foster a culture of Environemntal Sustainability in the senior school through both fun events and education. It is an open council, so passionate students who are not elected can contact Mr Johnston or Ms Wittman and are welcome if they commit to the year of full participation.

Hogar de Gina Master Classes

Hogar de Gina master classes are a chance to learn from students at the Hogar de Gina Home for Girls in Peru. The girls will teach WPGA students novel skills or creations via live video and it is a great opportunity to get a feel for Hogar de Gina and whether buddying might be for you.

A service club that matches WPGA students one-on-one with kids from the Hogar de Gina Home for Girls in Peru, is an opportunity to create unique friendships and connections across continents. We exchange monthly letters, plan experiences, offer evening English classes, hold joint events with the girls (Bingo Nights, dance parties), and generally get to know and love our buddies -- and all the kids at the home -- like we would our own Canadian friends! Absolute commitment expected if signed up for an English class, and for letter-writing due dates; meetings are optional.

Library Club

Library Club helps create a welcoming and engaging space in the Senior School Learning Commons. Members organize book displays and recommendations, promote reading through outreach, support school-wide literacy events, discuss books, and contribute ideas to make the library a vibrant hub for the school community. Of course, we also love to spend time reading and chatting about books.

Core Connectors

The Core Connector Program is a leadership initiative designed for students entering Grades 11 - 12 involving training in June. The program will provide an opportunity to positively contribute to overall school well-being while developing essential leadership and mentoring skills. Core Connectors support Gr 8 students through a structured peer mentorship and also play a key role in promoting student wellbeing and mental health awareness within the school community

Student Ambassadors

Student ambassadors in Grades 8-12 play a key role in familiarizing prospective families with the school campus and offerings. These ambassadors hone their communication skills while running tours through the fall, supporting playdates for JK-1, and assisting with entry assessments for students joining senior grades. Gender Sexuality Alliance – GSA

We want to continue to build an environment that embraces all and encourages discussion and action surrounding the LGBTQ2S+ community. Whether it’s coming to appreciate role models from the past and the present, addressing issues within the community or figuring out how we can be more inclusive both as individuals and collectively, the GSA is a safe and positive place that promotes respect for everyone. Lots of events including, guest speakers, Pride Week in the spring, Pink Shirt Day, Film screenings, and Discussion groups.

All cultures deal with questions of meaning including what is the nature of the universe; are human beings basically good or evil; are people determined or do they have free will; what is a person's basic purpose in life? Is there a purpose?; what is the good life for humans? What is the "ideal" or "good" society and how can it be established? Come and help set the agenda for the club and what questions we will look at this year.
