Dear WPGA Families:
Welcome to the 2025–26 school year! I hope you had a joyful and restorative summer. As we soon open our doors to a new academic year, there’s an unmistakable energy in the air—one of anticipation, transformation, and celebration.
This year marks West Point Grey Academy’s 30th year of operations: a remarkable milestone that invites us to honour our roots, celebrate our evolution, and look ahead with bold vision. From our foundational years in the 1990s to today, our community has flourished in heart, spirit, and purpose. It’s only fitting that in this landmark year, we will unveil a refreshed school identity, one that reflects who we are now and who we strive to become. The new brand, to be formally launched August 25, is grounded in our values and expresses our shared aspirations with strength, unity, and clarity. I can’t wait to share it with you.
Over the summer months, WPGA has undergone exciting changes—not just in how we’ll present ourselves to the world but in how we experience our physical campus. Thanks to your generous support and our building and operations teams' dedicated planning, a number of major capital projects are now complete or nearing completion:
- Our new all-weather turf field—a significant undertaking—is ready for use this fall, with final touches to be completed in the coming weeks.
- A new track, another high-level capital project, invites athletes of all levels to test their stride. Like the turf, the track will be ready for our runners, with finishing aspects to be completed in early fall.
- We’ve reimagined our drama and theatre room, offering students an inspiring space to create, rehearse, and perform.
- Not one but two climbing walls have been installed, supporting strength, agility, and confidence for our youngest cubs and older Grey Wolves.
- Two new busses provide even more capacity for our students to experience off-site learning and exploration.
- And several classrooms have received impactful improvements, ensuring that we continually meet the needs of our students and educators.
Each of these projects reflects our commitment to innovation, wellbeing, and a whole-child approach to education. They also represent the kind of forward momentum that will define this 30th anniversary year, grounded in our legacy and reaching toward an even brighter future.
To our new families: welcome to the WPGA community. To our returning families: welcome back. I look forward to sharing this extraordinary year with each of you.
