| Year Started at WPGA: 2002
| First Position Title: Homeroom and Learning Support Coordinator (JS)
| Current Position Title: Learning Support Services Coordinator / Head of The Study (SS)
Looking back, what’s a moment at WPGA that has stayed with you — one that shaped who you are today?
Opportunity to teach math at different JS levels rounded out my ability as a secondary math and science teacher.
What does the WPGA community mean to you , and why?
For me, the WPGA community is an incredible professional sanctuary and a true sense of camaraderie. When initially joining WPGA, I was impressed with how most teachers don't work in isolation and readily collaborate and share resources freely. My current team in The Study and colleagues that I now work with bring a lot of laughter and each possesses a unique brilliance that I appreciate working with every day.
How have you seen WPGA grow or change over the years — and what’s remained the same?
Growth / Change – new perspectives from leadership
Static – facilities (even with renovations WPGA is still tired as a structural entity)
What’s one lesson or value from WPGA that you carry into your life beyond school?
Lesson – The idea of continuous learning because at WPGA, the school constantly encourages students to explore and stay curious. I realize that curiosity doesn’t have an expiration date and this perspective of learning will continue to allow me to discover new interests, keeping my own learning fresh.
As we celebrate 30 years, what’s your hope or vision for the next 30?
My vision for the next 30 years is to see the next generation of educators and leaders alike, take the foundation we’ve built and keep on running with it (and with confidence). I hope WPGA continues to empower people to think big, adapt to a fast changing world, and keep on building upon the legacy of excellence that has been established over time.
