Looking back, what’s a moment at WPGA that has stayed with you — one that shaped who you are today?

Having my two children graduate from WPGA has given me a deep appreciation of the impact our school has on shaping the lives of young people and creating community among families. I got to see our high school program in slow motion and in high resolution as my kids moved through high school.

What does the WPGA community mean to you, and why?

My favourite events are our alumni socials. Seeing the “kids” again (the oldest of which turn 42 this year) and hearing about their lives and adventures reminds me of the importance of the work we do at WPGA. It would be nice to be able to reconnect with the alumni families too, because many of them were closely connected to the school while their kids were here.

How have you seen WPGA grow or change over the years — and what’s remained the same?

More kids, better facilities, more sophisticated programs and services. The support from parents and members of our board, and the commitment of our teachers has remained rock solid.

What’s one lesson or value from WPGA that you carry into your life beyond school?

The value and effectiveness of teamwork. So much can be accomplished when capable people share vision and values and no one prioritizes the individual spotlight.

As we celebrate 30 years, what’s your hope or vision for the next 30?

At the most essential level, we do two things: prepare students for their futures, and provide meaningful experiences that develop their character. My hope is that over the next 30 year with the inevitable changes in technology, facilities and personnel, that we continue to do both at the highest possible level.
